Purpose: To have uniform procedures for pulling and packing hose.

Policy: The pre-connects and cross-lays will be packed using a modified “minute man” lay. They will be packed using the two shorts and one long method. The last section will be pulled through and packed on top of the nozzle but not through the bail of the nozzle.

The method for pulling these lays involves taking the nozzle and all that is on top of it…then reach back, take the three loops, and pull them out of the bed. Ideally, you will feed the hose out rather than letting it just fall.

The front cross-lay shall be packed to be pulled out on the officers (right) side of the engine and the back cross-lay will be packed to be pulled off the operators (left) side.

The front trash line will be packed as needed to fit in the front tray for this line.

The 1 ¾ rear pre-connect attack line will be on the officers (right) side and the 2 ½ attack line will be packed on the operators (left) side.
