Purpose:

To provide a clear and concise understanding of the response procedures for handling calls within the dual response zone with Rockfish Valley Volunteer Fire Department.

 

Definitions:

The dual response zone is Route 151 from Route 6 to the top of Brent’s mountain, Adial Road from Route 151 to Route 6, Route 6 from Adial Road to Route 151, and roads feeding off those roads.

 

Policy:

When a call is received, the appropriate apparatus shall respond following SOG Comm 04-001 (Radio Procedures). The first out piece shall not wait for volunteers if the call is life-threatening.

 

All responses shall be in accordance with the Department Response Matrix.

 

When calls occur in the dual response zone we will release providers as long as we have one career provider, or appropriately trained volunteer in service for each station or one career provider transferring to fill quarters.

 

Rockfish Fire and/or Rescue will need to be added to all calls within the dual response zone if not on initial dispatch.
