Purpose:

The purpose of this SOG is to establish guidelines for diverting radio traffic.

 

Policy:

Wintergreen 1 will be the primary frequency used for all Fire and Rescue calls.

 

In the event, that radio traffic becomes heavy; the dispatcher may divert rescue calls to the Wintergreen Rescue frequency. Such times may include a working structure fire, heavy call volume during ski season, or other times deemed necessary by staff.

 

When working an incident, radio traffic between apparatus and members shall be diverted to a “talk-a-round” frequency. When directing traffic on the scene use Wintergreen 3 or 4.

 

Members must pay attention to the frequency assignments.

 

Frequency diversion will be avoided whenever possible.
