Remembering Eddie Embrey
We're saddened by the death of Eddie Embrey on Thursday 1/31/2019 after a battle with cancer. Eddie was a true public servant. For over 50 years he served his community as a firefighter, Chief, EMT, President of the County Emergency Services Council, and the list goes on and on. In his professional life, Eddie also served Nelson County as our primary resource from the Virginia Department of Forestry. If a bulldozer was cutting a line through a forest fire, good chance Eddie was driving. He was on the front lines in Hurricane Camille and never backed off till the day he died. His contributions to public safety at Wintergreen were significant and appreciated. Rest in peace Eddie, we'll take it from here.
