Structure Fire - Afton

Wintergreen Fire Department was dispatched to the Afton area for a possible Chimney Fire. With the given dispatch information it was requested that the incident be upgraded to a structure fire. When crews arrived on scene they reported heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the residence. Personnel on scene were able to get a quick knock down and remained on scene for salvage and overhaul. There were no injuries reported at the scene. Units that responded and on location were Rockfish Fire Department, Piney River Fire Department, Lovingston Fire Department, Faber Fire Department, Rockfish Rescue 57, Nelson EMS (Medic 910), Wintergreen Fire Department Tanker 62, and Captain 65.
