Possible Chimney Fire
Wintergreen Fire Department and Wintergreen Rescue were dispatched to possible Chimney Fire on Wintergreen Mountain later Saturday evening. When units arrived there was nothing showing from A, B, and D with some smoke showing from the chimney. When units entered the structure they noted that there was evidence of a chimney fire with light smoke in the structure. Personnel were deployed to the roof using the ladder from Truck 61 and the crew was able to knock debris down within the chimney pipe using a brush successfully. The residence was ventilated by opening doors and windows. Personnel on scene then checked for extension in the lower level as well as the attic of the residence with no other signs of fire. There were no injuries reported. Units on scene were Wintergreen Truck 61, Engine 61, Medic 177, Wintergreen PD, off-duty personnel, Chief 61, and Chief 62.
