Structure Fire - Nellysford

Wintergreen Fire Department and Wintergreen Rescue Squad were dispatched to a possible structure fire involving a garage with a residence above. There was a possibility of entrapment as it was not known where the occupant was at the time of the call. As crews approached the structure they could see a glow and immediately called for a working incident. They reported heavy fire showing from sides A, B, and D. Interior attack proved to be difficult due to heavy fire conditions. Crews were able to attack from the exterior and get the fire under control. After a detailed search there were no victims found and later the occupant was accounted for. Units on scene were Wintergreen Tanker 62, Medic 179, Medic 91, Response 62, Response 61, Rehab 60, Rockfish Fire Department, Faber Fire Department, Piney River Fire Department, Lovingston Fire Department, and Nelson County Sheriffs Office.
